Ocean Fonseca

Oakland, CA

Ocean Fonseca is a self-taught oil painter from Oakland. Their body of work explores the exchange between digital and figurative images. These paintings investigate the magical excess generated when oil painting recreates amateur photography and interrogates the use-value of figurative painting in the age of ever more extreme image proliferation.
